Importance of respiratory syncytial virus as a predictor of hospital length of stay in bronchiolitis

IIntroduction : Bronchiolitis is the leading cause of hospitalization in children. Estimate potentially preventable variables that impact length hospital stay are a priority to reduce costs associated with this disease. This study aims identify clinical bronchiolitis children tropical middle-income country Methods: We conducted retrospective cohort 417 infants tertiary centers Colombia. All medical records all patients admitted throughto emergency department were reviewed. To factors independently we use negative binomial regression model, estimate incidence rate ratios (IRR) and adjust for potential confounding variables Results The median was 3.68 days, range 0.774 days 29 138 (33.117%) have 5 or more days.
